April Brown & Ambrosia Carey Are Rooted in Experience and Integrity

Rooted Extensions is taking the luxury hair extension world by storm and is rapidly expanding. Established in July 2023, Rooted Extensions, created by April Brown, an inspiring leader and visionary. April knew she could build something great based on a need she saw in the luxury hair extension market. April is a 2 time salon owner based in Calgary, Alberta - check out Rootbar. Her salon teams adore her and love the working environment they get to be a part of every day. When the whole team feels good, and happy, and proud to be working together, then surely magic happens in a place like that. (Photo of April below).

April joined forces with another powerhouse leader, Ambrosia Carey, to help navigate and spearhead the rapid growth that Rooted is experiencing. Ambrosia is also a salon owner in Portland, Oregon, that houses both employees and self-employed, independent stylists. Ambrosia’s leadership style ensures that her team gives their best effort and produce top-notch work while building long lasting relationships with their guests. Ambrosia is the CMO (chief marketing officer) of Rooted, sharing her masterful creativity and strategy to support Rooted’s growth mission  -  with much success! Ambrosia also leads the US expansion of Rooted Hair Extensions. Ambrosia also has a business called Successful Stylist Academy which includes a successful podcast, and retreats for ambitious business women wanting to connect and support each other while elevating their businesses, and also create a sense of community. These two women are steeped in experience as hairstylists, salon owners, managing teams, and now growing another aspect of their business with Rooted Luxury Hair Extensions. 

Rooted Luxury Hair Extensions Vision

They share a strong vision and passion for their goal for Rooted. Changing the way we see hair extensions, and see ourselves with hair extensions. They can serve so many functions and purposes, but we mostly don't see that side, and it doesn’t get talked about too much. This is what they want to shine a light on. Not only do they believe that luxury hair extensions can be for everyone, but more importantly, they aim to reach that part of the market that doesn’t see themselves as “hair extension wearers”. Powerful connections are made when we feel the most confident and comfortable in our own skin, and Rooted wants to reach those people who don't feel their best because they lack confidence with their hair. 

Women of  all ages should be able to experience what luxury hair extensions can do for them. Some women will experience hair loss, and change in texture and density as they advance in their years (part of the aging process).  There are ways of minimizing the negative impact that our natural aging process has on our hair (and also our confidence), by creatively using hair extensions. Not everyone wants hair down to their waist. Perhaps just a little more volume. Maybe just to be able to have your hairstyle last longer. Maybe a slight colour change without using chemicals on your own hair. These are just some of the many scenarios that can make hair extensions beneficial for just about anyone!

Ambrosia and April also agree on another important topic: the environment. These ladies are passionate about making mindful choices in their business practices. They don’t just talk the talk, but they also walk the walk! Finding sustainable ways to operate their business that favors our planet by reducing our carbon footprint was a must for this team.
